About Dickson Psychology

Dickson Psychology provides comprehensive psychological assessments and evidence-informed therapy for children and adolescents in Canberra and surrounding regions.

We work with families seeking a better understanding of their child's attention, learning, behaviour, emotions, and development. Our areas of expertise include ADHD, autism, learning disorders, cognitive assessment, and emotional or behavioural difficulties.

We recognise that every child has a unique profile of strengths and challenges. Our approach is respectful, collaborative, and individualised, supporting children and young people—including those who are neurodivergent—to better understand themselves and reach their potential.

Our Approach

Families often come to us feeling uncertain about why their child is struggling or how best to support them. We believe that understanding comes first. Through comprehensive assessment and evidence-informed care, we help families gain clarity about their child's strengths, challenges, and individual needs, so they can make informed decisions with confidence.

We recognise that you know your child best. We take the time to understand your concerns and work collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals to provide practical, individualised support that makes a meaningful difference in everyday life. Comprehensive assessment provides a clearer understanding of your child's strengths, challenges, and individual needs, together with practical recommendations to support them at home, school, and in everyday life. Where therapy is appropriate, intervention is tailored to each child's goals using evidence-informed approaches.
